When life gives you hangers

When life gives you hangers, make a pan lid organiser and (slightly) sort out the cupboard of doom.

Our pots and pans cupboard is set into a corner so unless you’ve got Mr Tickle arms and a torch, the back half of the cupboard is a mystery. The day to day pans jostle for prime position in front of the door and everything is balanced precariously on top of each other. Yes, we could take time to stack pans from biggest to smallest and and Tetris it all together but we’re more of a Jenga household.

Thankfully, we also had an over abundance of metal coat coat hangers.

This lid organiser took 20 mins to make and is one of my greatest non-sewing creations. Things I worked out along the way:

  • Put a little kink into the corners of the coat hangers so the twine doesn’t slide along the metal but sits in the groove
  • blu-tack the hangers onto the top of the door to stop sliding
  • add an extra hook to the bottomof the door and tension it with a rubber band to prevent everything from clanging when you shut the door
