T-shirt quilt archive

Here’s a small selection of my completed t-shirt quilts. Each one is full of personality and tells a unique story of its recipient.

Keith: As a runner myself, I loved working on this t-shirt quilt for Keith, an extremely accomplished and and speedy racer.

All of these t-shirts are dated from 2024 alone, including 12 full marathons and numerous half marathons! The centre panel is from the prestigious Boston Marathon. The jersey itself was plain blue so I created an appliqued patch from a small logo on the sleeve and framed it in golden yellow to match.

Alistair: Alistair sent me these t-shirts to create a quilt, celebrating his wife’s achievements in underwater hockey. I had no idea that hockey could be played under water but a quick look on YouTube showed me what a graceful but lung busting sport this is. The t-shirts are arranged in three columns with the panels cut to different heights to give a tiled layout.

Brigette: Remember the excitement of the London 2012 Olympics? Brigette was one the the amazing Games Makers who helped bring the magic to visitors and athletes. She wanted her volunteer t-shirts turned into a momento of those incredible weeks in the summer of 2012. I used the original buttons from her shirts to create the closure on the back of the cushions.
